Frances Scott

Frances made an enquiry into the night in exchange with those who inhabit it. Through walks and conversation with tube engineers, taxi-drivers, shop keepers, door-supervisors, okey players, she mapped the public and private contexts, photographing as she went the timepieces of the neighbourhood, and lending cameras to minicab drivers to experiment with long shutter speeds while they waited for passengers. Simultaneous concluding public installations of text and image, one in a disused minicab office and the second in a bowling alley, performed a collective testament to Finsbury Park and its present night.

Frances was commissioned in 2013 for A Million Minutes in partnership with Islington Council with funding from Arts Council England.
